The manor house Kozel (basic tour)

Interior exhibition, evoking the atmosphere and development of accommodation from the Rococo period to the Napoleonic Empire.

The interiors of the manor house have partly preserved original furniture, which creates an idea of the way hunting lodges and summer residences of the nobility at the turn of the 18th and 19th centuries were furnished. Among the collection of items stored in the manor house, you can see works of art, as well as arts and crafts, from the Renaissance, Baroque, Rococo, Classicism, and even Empire periods. The furnishings of each room are complemented by a ceramic classicist stove, decorated with plant motives, and topped with a vase. In some rooms, the decorative wall decor, by the painter Antonín Tuvora, has been preserved. The tour route passes through individual salons, showing, for example, the equipment and furnishings of a hunting salon, bedroom, billiard hall, and a library with old prints from the years 1517-1840. The manor house theatre has also been well preserved, which originally served as a stable for Count Czernin’s horses.

The tour of the manor house interiors always takes place with a guide, and lasts approximately 45 minutes. The capacity for the group is a maximum of 20 visitors. For larger groups, we therefore recommend to book your tour of the manor house in advance. You can book by telephonee-mail, or in person, at the box office of Kozel Manor House. In April and October, the manor house is open at weekends, and on weekdays only for pre-booked groups of more than 10 people, for an additional fee. The last tour starts 10 minutes before the end of the visiting hours.

This visitor route is wheelchair friendly.
